How to make your bathroom more relaxing

How to make your bathroom more relaxing

We spend a significant amount of our time in the bathroom, so it’s important to make sure it’s a relaxing and comfortable environment. Have a read of our relaxing bathroom ideas for inspiration on how to create a haven of calm. Declutter, organise, and turn your bathroom into a spa where you can enjoy a bit of time for yourself.

Remove clutter

The first of our calming bathroom ideas is possibly the most important: decluttering. It’s very difficult to find a space relaxing when you’re surrounded by stuff! It’s also harder to keep surfaces clean. So declutter in three easy steps:

  1. Take everything out of your bathroom.
  2. Make three piles: keep, move, or bin/recycle.
  3. Then return all the things that you need to keep in the bathroom, move the things that can live elsewhere out, and dispose of the final pile (recycling where possible).

If space is tight, keep things that aren’t used regularly, like spare towels, in another room where there’s more storage space. Speaking of storage, that’s next up in our list of calm bathroom ideas…

Sort your storage

The second of our bathroom relaxation ideas is all about getting those bathroom essentials out of view and stored away neatly, especially if you have a small space. You might need to invest in new towel rails or hooks, a toothbrush holder, or a soap dish, but it’s worth creating proper homes for the following items:

  • Toothbrushes/toothpaste
  • Shower gel
  • Shampoo/conditioner
  • Hand soap
  • Towels
  • Flannels

Our DIY make-up organiser also helps tidy items away while keeping them accessible – you’ll probably even have some empty Cushelle toilet rolls at home ready to make it! Everything else can probably be kept in a cabinet or cupboard. An under-basin cupboard can be a great use of empty space, as can a wall cabinet above the basin. This is where you can hide away items like deodorants, moisturisers or loo roll.

To create a calming bathroom, ideas to give you easy access to important items are very helpful. Try creating a storage system within your storage, with small boxes, baskets or containers that can hold categories of items. You’ll feel much more zen in your bathroom if you don’t have to spend 10 minutes searching for the moisturiser!

Stock up on everyday luxuries

Simple, day-to-day relaxing bathroom ideas can seriously improve your overall experience. You might not usually have strong feelings about your bathroom while popping to the loo, but you can make those everyday bathroom tasks more relaxing by using quality products like super-soft Cushelle toilet paper.

Cushelle toilet paper is soft and strong, which helps to improve those everyday bathroom experiences. Put some spare rolls in one of your storage solutions so you always have it to hand.

Add indulgent extras

Once all your essentials are in place, it’s time to create a calm bathroom. Ideas for adding some luxury touches are now on the agenda. We’re talking about replicating that professional spa feeling at home.

The easiest way to turn bathroom into spa is to keep some special items on hand for when you have a bath:

  • Scented candles
  • Essential oils to add to the bath water
  • Fluffy bathrobe and slippers
  • Want to up the ante? Try some relaxing music played through waterproof speakers for bathtime.

Every now and again, set aside some time for a real pamper treatment and indulge in DIY treatments, like hair masks or homemade face packs.

With these bathroom relaxation ideas you can make one of the smallest rooms in the house feel more appealing, so that you can enjoy using it every day.
